I am 47 and have had a lazy eye since youth. I also suffer with poor vision and was interested in perhaps nutritional support or herbal nutrition, or other natural help for vision.

My daughter will be 47 in july. she too has lazy eye and poor vision. Hers has gotten much better since youth. She wore glasses that made the lazy eye work more. She wore a blindfold on the lazy eye first for about a year. Then the glasses. Her glasses are made so the good eye doesn’t work too hard and the lazy one has to pull for vision. I suggest you see a dr. and get glass that will make the lazy eye work better. Good luck.

I have friend age 65 who has been doing vision therapy with a specially trained optometrist for the last few months and having great results. These are specially trained optometrists who screen for obvious medical problems and then do a regimen of exercises and techniques designed to strengthen the eye and improve function.

Ophthalmologists do not generally offer this therapy and stick to medications and surgery to treat the eye. I’m not saying one is better than the other, but that depending upon what’s going on with your eyes holistically, that would guide you in choosing a path.

Get your eyes screened first from an optometrist. If there is a medical/surgical issue, they’ll refer you to an ophthalmologist. Get a referral from someone you trust.

The eye is made up of mostly amino acids, L-carnitine (if spelled correctly) will assist and from all accounts will delay macular degeneration.
Also a totally natural diet does wonders for straightening the eye. A diet of high in processed foods does not help in eye correction.

You cant go wrong by eating healthy fruits & vegetables. They have nutreints beneficial for eye health. Chicken eggs, like fruits & veggies, also have (if i’m not mistaken)lutein & xanthopyll, which are good for the eyes. Of course, caution in eating eggs: you cant eat too much– 3-4times a week is ok.

Also, overstraining the eyes won’t do you any good. If you use the computer alot, giving the eyes some rest would be beneficial. I’m sure you know simple tips for healthy eyes such as the latter.

You may also check if you have any illness, which may cause/relate to your poor vision.Going to the doctor would help in this regard.

Good luck!
