by David Jenyns

Just picked up a pair of Gunnar Optiks computer glasses to reduce my eye strain and help me from staring at monitors all day long.

You also forgot to mention that you will notice a magnification effect from using these. I dont have the same model but i hear they all magnify what you see. When i took off my call of duty gunnar glasses i felt dizzy or light headed when my eyes would try to re adjust after use due to this magnifying effect.

What’s that frame model you have on?

i am in the pasadena area in california and it was a place called optics one.

several months later they are still as clear as ever, however i was stupid and jumped into a firework with them on 😛 1 spark has managed to melt an (unnoticed) spot on the edge but otherwise they’re sturdy. hard to scratch too, just remember to use the little cloth bag they come in as the wiper.

WritingWhitePapers February 9, 2011 at 6:40 pm

The yellow is not even noticed. You see all the colors

You can get them in prescription or from Amazon. I got mine direct from the manufacturer

were did u buy them? and do you need a prescription?

izlude2 February 9, 2011 at 8:14 pm

hi max. while they aren’t sunglasses, they are ok to wear all day long even outside. (for style i suppose) but i have prescription glasses, so i do get to wear them all day. they won’t cause any harm to your eyes and are not dangerous. however if you take them off, you’ll notice for about 2 minutes that everything is discolored. it returns as your eyes adjust to natural light.

I use these things every day now and the really work.

great vid!

give us an update on how they’re working out for you now

djmwade February 9, 2011 at 9:55 pm

what frame model did you buy?

WritingWhitePapers February 9, 2011 at 10:26 pm

Guns – The actually are avail. in prescription. Spoke to an eye doc and he told me his partner swears by them. Because of their tint, the remove the glare you see on the monitor, that is the MAIN reason I use them.

Regarding your comments:”They’re not prescription” &”It magnifies by 20%”. If you put them on and they magnify by that much than it is similar to a light prescription of +1.25 or +1.50. You can go to the drugstore and buy the same formula off the rack for a cheaper price. Like a majority of the reviews that I have been reading it seems like a “Glorified pair of reading glasses.” Best comment on the web, “They are popular amongst the older 35+ crowd that is in denial of having to wear glasses.

Hi Max;

I wore them out in the hall and they seemed okay. Just know they are not sunglasses and do not work outside (except at night to reduce glare)

Maxpaynter February 9, 2011 at 10:44 pm

Id like to get these but can i wear them all the time? I want an excuse to wear glasses.
